Mercado Libre is among the three most responsible companies in ESG in Brazil, Argentina, and Chile, according to the Merco ranking. The study recognizes companies with the best performance in environmental, social, and corporate governance practices, based on the perception of different audiences and reputation indicators.
Looking at each country individually, Mercado Libre moved up one position in Brazil compared to 2025, reaching third place. In Argentina, the company remains in second place, while in Chile it ranks third among the companies assessed.
The recognition highlights how Mercado Libre has been balancing business growth with positive impact through an ecosystem that democratizes access to e-commerce, digital financial services, and development opportunities for millions of people and SMEs across Latin America.
The study also reveals a broader market trend, where ESG criteria play an increasingly important role in how investors, consumers, and other stakeholders evaluate companies, becoming both a competitive differentiator and a key indicator of long-term business sustainability.
“Being among the highest-rated companies in ESG in the region reinforces our view that sustainability is an ongoing journey. This means there is no endpoint; it is a constantly evolving path.”
