About the initiative

Supporting the Best of Brazil

Since 2017, we have exercised our corporate citizenship by utilizing the tax incentives permitted under Brazilian law to strengthen initiatives that foster cultural and artistic production, contribute to the preservation and dissemination of our historical heritage, and promote sports and social inclusion for children, adolescents, and the elderly, especially in the communities surrounding our operations.
In addition to aligning with Mercado Livre’s institutional stance, these projects fall under the following incentive laws: Rouanet Law (Culture) + Audiovisual Law, FIA – Fund for Children and Adolescents, Elderly Persons Act, Recycling Act, Sports Incentive Act, PRONAS (People with Disabilities), and PRONON (Oncology).
Over the years, we have achieved results that reinforce our commitment to culture as a strategic sector, a driver of social transformation and socioeconomic progress in our communities.

Socio-cultural investment in Brazil

In 2025, we allocated US$11.7 million through tax incentives to 87 initiatives in the areas of culture, sports, health, social assistance, and recycling. The selection was conducted through the #EntregandoOMelhorDoBrasil call for proposals, ensuring transparency throughout the process.
We prioritized the states where our distribution centers are located—São Paulo, Bahia, Santa Catarina, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, and the Federal District—but, at the same time, we sought to achieve national coverage and democratize access to resources.
The call for proposals was organized around two pillars—economic empowerment and quality of life—and incorporated, as a new feature, the Recycling Incentives Law, which allowed for the inclusion of initiatives that promote the circular economy, proper waste management, and the recognition of the work of cooperatives, linking environmental protection, productive inclusion, and local development.
