We take action today

To support the communities where we operate

We contribute to the development of the communities where we operate, ensuring that our presence is always a driver of job creation and local socioeconomic development.
We support the strengthening of the nonprofit sector in the region through Mercado Libre Solidario, a program that promotes digital inclusion for social organizations, connecting them with thousands of people and facilitating fundraising through our ecosystem.
In addition, we have developed an Emergency Protocol that establishes guidelines and actions in the event of crises or states of catastrophe in the countries where we operate, making our fintech solutions available to quickly and securely channel donations from society to local organizations.
In Brazil, we select and allocate tax incentive resources to projects in the areas of culture, sports, health, social assistance, and recycling. We prioritize the states where our distribution centers are located, while ensuring national reach and democratization of access to resources.
In Argentina, we invest in the financial education of thousands of young Argentinians through an initiative carried out in partnership with Junior Achievement.

Impact stories

In response to the devastating floods in Bahía Blanca, the Mercado Pago platform enabled us to quickly and easily raise funds to support affected families. This has allowed us to assist 12,056 families with furniture, equipment, work tools, and construction materials, besides equipping 25 centers and hundreds of businesses and productive enterprises.

In every emergency, every gesture counts. The support of companies like Mercado Libre allows us to be there for affected families from the very beginning, providing humanitarian aid to those who need it most, both in the immediate aftermath and throughout their return home and recovery.
