We Work Today

To create positive impact through our value chain

We achieve our purpose alongside the companies that make up our supply and service chain. Thanks to the work of strategic partners in logistics, shipping, infrastructure, and consulting, we overcome geographical, cultural, and financial barriers to reach those who choose us quickly and safely.
We create a virtuous cycle with the value chain: as they help us deploy our ecosystem of solutions in the region, opportunities for growth and development multiply for everyone involved.
In 2024, we launched the MELI Code+, our Code of Ethics for Suppliers and Business Partners. Compliance with the code is required for supplier selection, the possibility of establishing partnerships, and maintaining those relationships over time. The document, which all partners must sign, prohibits forced or involuntary labor and any form of modern slavery. It also requires compliance with the minimum working ages established by local regulations, prior verification of the age of all workers, and the guarantee that employment is always voluntary.
Furthermore, we have developed a Third-Party Risk Management Program to identify, assess, and manage the risks that relationships with third parties pose regarding business continuity, information security, data privacy, and corruption prevention, among others.
Before entering into a business relationship, suppliers must complete a questionnaire and provide information about their structure and the services they will offer. Based on this information, specialized departments assess, classify, and categorize the risk associated with contracting the third party, determining any mitigation measures whenever necessary.
Aware of the social and environmental impact of our value chain, we have also created a Sustainable Procurement Policy that encourages working with suppliers committed to positive impact. Throughout the year, we also run initiatives focused on training and recognizing best practices.
Meli Awards Brazil
Created in 2023, the Meli Awards recognize the performance of Mercado Libre’s key suppliers through an annual evaluation that considers commercial, technical, regulatory compliance, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria. Sustainability maturity is assessed based on climate management, commitment to human rights, and governance practices.
In 2025, 208 suppliers were evaluated using this methodology. A total of 20 supplier companies operating in categories strategic to Mercado Libre’s operations in Brazil received the award.

Impact stories

Marina Ini

"To us, ´Mide Io que Importa´ was a fantastic 'alarm clock' that gave us the opportunity to ask ourselves how we did what we were doing. At that time, we started our journey to improve our enterprise, measuring our impact and becoming a certified B Corp in 2021."

"Ever since I became a partner at Trasix, getting BCorp Certification has been a goal. Along with the positive impacts on the environment and society of our work, we also wanted to show our commitment to Corporate Compliance and Governance. Trasix's participation in the Measuring What Matters program gave us the necessary push to formalize the entire process and get our BCorp certification."

Felipe Cralde - Partner at Trastx

The partnership with Mercado Libre was a milestone for Basepex. Together, we expanded the use of electric vehicles, invested in sustainable infrastructure, and modernized our operations by combining efficiency, purpose, and positive impact. More than just deliveries, we are building solutions aligned with the future of mobility. We are proud of this journey, and there is still a lot to come.
